Or the higher education he got, the more harm he would cause to the society as well as himself. Our traditional education ,to same degree, was a kind of education in ethics. Almost everything that we learned from the ancient textbook, like The Four Books and the Five Classics, was how to improve ourselves in the aspect of humanity, justice, courtesy, wisdom, faith, honesty, and filial duty. Then , with spare energy you could learn other knowledge. If you want to do something or to be somebody, your moral character would be a very important standard for people’s judgments. So our traditional education was founded on the basic of moral education. What about western countries’ education? Do they had the same foundation with us? Yes, the did. They had an different type but with the same even better effect---the religion system. For each religion have one thing in common---persuading people to do good deeds. However, from the present decades, we have abandoned the traditional found stone gradually. There is no doubt that we can not found a building without base. Therefore, our modern education can not be successful without traditional moral education. It is never too late to make up. Or our education would drop into a vicious circle. If a man with a bad virtue had been a teacher, you could imagine the moral character of his students.
