Last year about 800,000 barrels per day were produced and you can see on the chart who some of the current producers are, as well as the location of proposed future projects. If I may, I’d like to elaborate a bit more about the numbers you see in the box to the right. So let’s look at them very quickly on the next slide… * To explain further, the dilemma is illustrated by this chart, which demonstrates how oil sands crude accesses US markets today. It’s critically important to understand that the US market is the key for the scale of oil sands development we are looking at. Note in the lower left hand corner that our competitors are Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Mexico and Nigeria all of whom do not have Kyoto targets.
