IFS – THE GLOBAL ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS COMPANY The main idea is to get a better focus on strategic issues, which often means to link the short term management control to the long term vision and strategy of the firm. But also to focus on a few, but very important, key performance indicators that lead to success. To get a real focus on strategy and to get the strategy executed it is very important with communication of strategy to the whole organization, thus making strategy everyone’s job. By integrating, analyzing and communicating the right information throughout the organization, employees will be able to make the right business decisions consistent with the organizations strategic goals. It is important that companies have a balance in their performance management, where the most important “balances” are presented in the power point. Note that financial perspective and measures are not enough to monitor if you would like to be successful in the business. Since financial performance is an outcome of the business activities that take place in the company, you cannot control with them. It is like driving a car on the high way and only look in the rear mirror. You need to be in control of the business processes and activities that drives your performance. Balanced Scorecard - A Methodology to Establish Objectives and Measures The Balanced Scorecard connects top-down communication of strategic goals with bottom-up reporting of performance and combines both historic and predicitive views to support the entire strategic management cycle. Today you have to manage leading indicators that ultimately result in financial performance. Therefore reporting and feedback systems must be designed to consistantly allign and drive performance at all levels to achieve the companys long-term strategy.
