The effect of the non-metallic inclusions on the HIC behavior of the high strength pipeline steel Zhenfan，liujing，huangfeng，chengjihao，licuiling (College of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering, Wuhan University of Science and Technology,wuhan 430081,China Abstract:The non-metallic inclusions of the high strength pipeline steel has been studied through the multifunctional microscope, the HIC suscepibility of the experimental steel was tested according to the GB8650-2006 standard, and the cracks have been analysed by the SEM and EDS. The result shows that: the crack initiated and extended between the boundary of non-metallic inclusions and the base metal, then connected each other; the more the content of the S and Al in the pipeline steel, the higher the inclusions grade, the more the non-metallic inclusions, and the higher the HIC sensitivity.
