The focus will be primarily on linear equations and functions. We will look at a variety of techniques including manipulatives to demonstrate how to solve linear equations involving decimals, fractions, and integers. Applications of linear equations will be discussed and a problem solving process will be developed. Problems will include a variety of algebraic concepts and will be solved using critical thinking skills as well as algebraic skills. We will also explore graphs of linear functions.
