Educational Plan for Master Degree Program Computer Simulation in Civil Engineering Major （081423） ? Brief Introduction to the Subject Civil engineering computer simulation is a secondary major in civil engineering. It plays an important role in development of people economy. Civil engineering computer simulation is a secondary major set up independently at Tongji University in 2005. Although the period of time after generation of the major is not long, achievement of teaching and scientific research have important contribution in the academic and engineering fields all over the world. The major is well-known at the following fields, such as structural analysis and numerical simulation in civil engineering, civil engineering CAD, civil engineering design, visualization of construction, computer graphics, and engineering structural testing simulation, etc. There is a powerful teaching and scientific research group. There are around 20 teaching, research and laboratory members, including 3 professors and 2 associate professors. Recently, great achievement in talent education, educational transformation, international communication and exchange, scientific research, and society service, have been made. Averagely, there are 6 to 8 master graduate students, and more than 10 doctoral graduate students enrolled in the major. Many projects of educational improvement and textbook publication have been made. National natural scientific researches, projects of Shanghai scientific committee, development committee, educational committee, have been completed. Numerous structural constructions have been established, such as the National Olympic Bird-nest Gymnasium, stadium, Shanghai Navigation Museum, Shanghai Pu-Dong International Airport, Guang-Zhou meeting center, Guang-Zhou west tower, Nan-Jing Olympic Stadium, Hang-Zhou bridge sea-spanning platform, Dong-Hai bridge tower, etc. Many science technology awards and national monopoly have been obtained.
