22nd ITS World Congress, Bordeaux, France, 5–9 October 2015 ITS-2802 Simulation Parameters of Re-routing Strategy Vladimir Zyryanov, Anastasia Feofilowa Rostov State Civil Engineering University, Socialisticheskaya street, 162, Rostov-on-Don, 344022, Russia Abstract This paper presents the results obtained at simulation of various of dynamic route guidance algorithms. The following conceptual approaches are used as tools for the solution of these problems: traffic monitoring; LOS determination and estimation of congestion conditions; traffic simulation on urban network and estimation of traffic scenarios, the forecast of the system efficiency. Simulation experiments have been carried out for the part of the Rostov-on- Don network of with using the software AIMSUN. For the procedure assignment the following features were considered: the alternative routes determination, computation of the average number of re-routing vehicles, the re-routing period and congestion threshold. Introduction The efficient use of the transport city infrastructure is mostly determined by the existence and operation of intelligent transport systems (ITS). The analysis of the current traffic conditions and congestion level of main highways reveals the topical character of scientific research in the field of efficient traffic flow management. That is why the dynamic traffic re-routing from road sections with heavy traffic to the alternative routes is so important.
