Step 1
Warming-up and leading-in
1. Greet the students as usual. Have a free talk with the students to talk about something they learnt in unit 2. Ask students to describe their good friend or a person they love by using adjectives or adverb words.
1. Greet the teacher, and talk about their last weekend by using the past tense.
2. Describe one of their friends or a person they love using adjectives or adverb words.
Warm the class and lead in the new class.
Step 2 Presentation
Show the structure on the blackboard:
be+ comparative adjective form +than…
verb+ comparative adverb form+ than…
Ask students to watch the pictures carefully and match each word with its opposite to finish 1a .Check the answers.
Show some pictures and let students do some compare to learn the comparative forms of adjectives and adverbs.
Let students do 1b, and then check the answers.
1.Learn the new structures.
2.Finish 1a and 1b.
