Unit 8 Body Electrical System Text A Air Conditioning Since the advent of the automotive air conditioning system in the 1940’s, many things have undergone extensive change. Improvements, such as computerized automatic temperature control (which allow you to set the desired temperature and have the system adjust automatically) and improvements to overall durability, have added complexity to today’s modern air conditioning system. Text A Air Conditioning Vehicles are found to have primarily three different types of air conditioning systems. While each of the three types differ, the concept and design are very similar to one another. The most common components which make up these automotive systems are the following: compressor, condenser, evaporator, thermal expansion valve and accumulator. Text A Air Conditioning Text A Air Conditioning Vehicle air conditioning uses both the heater core and the evaporator to regulate the temperature in accordance with the opening of the air-mix damper and the opening of the water valve. An auto air conditioning system automatically regulates the temperature of the interior to a set temperature. The Fig.8.2 shows how an air conditioning system work. When the operating mode is set to AUTO and the temperature is set, the sensors detect the ambient air temperature, interior temperature, and the set temperature. Then, the computer automatically controls the outlet temperature, blower speed, and the outlet position in order to attain the set temperature.
