Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region（新疆维吾尔自治区） General situation The region has a population of about 21 millions, among whom 60 percent are ethnic minorities.There are 47 ethnic groups in Xinjiang, mainly the Uygur, Kazak, Hui, Mongolian, Russian and so on. The major religion in Xinjiang are Islam（伊斯兰教）. Urumqi is the capital of Xinjiang , and its Bazzar is very popular and worth to be visited because of its featured structure, food and goods. 国际大巴扎（Bazzar） If North Xinjiang means mountains and grasslands like the Kanas Nature Reserve and Narat Grassland, South Xinjiang means desert and Gobi such as the Takla Makan Desert; If North Xinjiang means fine horses and the sounds of singing, South Xinjiang means dances such as Mukamu（木卡姆） (the most popular dance in Xinjiang，a part of Dolan Culture,not the pop star). 南疆看风情，北疆看风景 Kanas Lake It is said that there’s a lake monster in the Kanas lake , but no one ever caught or has seen it clearly Sailimu Lake One of the world’s three biggest lavender plant region.
