一、教材内容分析
Status and Function:
In this unit ,it talks about world-famous and interesting books and novels.This lesson is an extract from
Gulliver’s Travels. The article itself is interesting, this will improve students’ interest.
By learning this lesson, students can learn something more about famous novels.
To attain “four skills” request of listening, speaking, reading and writing, I will have the students do some
exercise about the text.

Knowledge objects
To study the new words “tiny, stomach, touch, continue, army, either, etc.
To learn and master the phrases “ fall over, be tired out, manage to do sth, get away, etc.
2.Ability objects
To develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
To train the students’ ability of working in pairs.
To develop the students’ abilities of retelling a story .
3.Moral objects
Through different teaching methods to make students be interested in study.
Love to know more knowledge about novels.
Encourage the students to be more creative and try to become interested in reading.
