Abstract Research on the preservice teacher education program to train excellent teacher in USA universities in the United States as an example Major：Adult Education Postgraduate student：Li Mo Supervisor：Associate Professor Yin Fang Abst r act：The Ministry of educmion of the people’S Republic of China proposed that outstanding teachers training plan，many domestic normal universities began implementation ofoutstanding teachers training，by optimizing the design ofpreservice teacher education programs，improve students in normal colleges and universities professional talent training scheme，focusing on preservice teacher training and support， these universities of preservice teacher education programs have their own characteristics and achieved certain results，there ale still some problems to be solved． The early 80s in the last century，put forward excellence in teacher training policy documents，University have to redesign the preservice teacher education program， constitutes a key projects of pre service teacher education training target，related to the course，curriculum integration，teachers，normal student recruitment and selection， normal school students’graduation and degree awarded，teacher training research， teacher culture funding and teaching resources to support the construction and teacher education project evaluation and SO on of reform and improvement and achieved some experience．Some expedences of the preservice teacher education program in American University provide some references for the optimization of the preservice teacher education program in Universities under the plan of excellent teachers in China． Through combing the excellent teacher
