2.chief cell:
These cells have
polygonal shape and
are arranged in
cords.Their
cytoplasma are pale-
staining.
3.oxyphil cell：
not evident in this

Between these cells in the cortex,there are abundant sinusoidal capillaries( ).
2a. zona glomerulosa:
Cells are polyhedral and arranged in grape-like clusters.Their nuclei and cytoplasm are stained densely.
2b. zona fasiculata:
Cells are polyhedral and usually have a foamy appearance due to abundant lipid droplets. They also are arranged in distinctively straight cords that radiate toward the medulla. ;2c. zona reticularis ：
Cells are polyhedral and arranged in cords.These cords anastomose with one another.Their cytoplasm are acidophilic and stained red.
3.adrenal medulla：
the center portion of adrenal gland:
Cells are polyhedral and rather basophilic. They are arranged in clusters,usually around medullary veins.
In the center we can see the cross section of medullary vein（3a）.;When fixed in chrome salts, the granules of medullary cells appear a brown color ( ) .
So these cells are also called chromaffin cells.;Adrenal medulla(rat)

Cells are polyhedral and weakly basophilic. They are arranged in clusters.
2.sympathetic ganglionic cell ( )，
has a large、round and pale-staining nucleus and has a prominent nucleolus.In their cytoplasm Nissel’s bodies can be found.;sympathetic ganglionic cell;Pituitary gland:human,HE stain.
