The device contains a bank of capacitors which - in case of a failure -still might be charged even though the mains connection is already disconnected. Touching any conductor inside the device has to be avoided at any time - even after disconnecting the mains connection. Service on the device may only be provided by specially trained staffs, that knows the specific dangers of voltages up to 3000V. The inductivity of the connected coil may not be lower than 5|jH. Therefore the current cannot exceed a maximum value of 35kA. Lower inductivities may only be applied when the charging voltage is chosen at lower level, so that the coil current does not exceed 35kA. Continuous using of higher currents can lead to damage of the capacitors. Under worst condition the capacitors might catch fire or explode. In case of fire the used fire extinguisher has to be electrically approved for higher voltages because the charged capacitors may still cause severe electrical shock.
