Anxiety in the Foreign Language Classroom Factors―both social and individual, which affect second language acquisition exist in great numbers. In this paper, anxiety, an important psychological phenomenon in foreign language learning will be discussed. In chapter I, the causes of different types of anxiety will be analyzed. In chapter II, its effects on foreign language learning ―especially on English can be found. And some suggestions for teachers will be presented in the end.
