Misadventures in English (1) Lesson topic:Misadventures in English (2) Textbook analysis and student analysis: the central topic of this unit is Misadventures , and almost all contents are carried out around this central topic. The warming up part guides students to understand the real problems in daily life and the methods of generating these problems in the form of student discussion; Some phrases in the pre reading section inspire students to think about different cultural and language backgrounds. Three goals: 1. Knowledge goals Learn some expressions and phrases about writing a journal entry. 2. Learning ability goals (1)To enable the students to master the form of journal entry. (2)Solve the different points between students and complish the explantions of exercises. 3.Emotional goals Experience the feelings expressed by the author Teaching important points and difficult points Teaching important points Let students realize the differences between different culturesTeaching Teaching difficult points Enable the students master the main idea and some detailed information by fast-reading and careful-reading. Teaching process Step1. Warming Up : Talk about the phrases. 1. Ask the students to discuss some familiar words and phrases of business. These words have many meanings. 2. Make student representatives to say the meaning of several phrases one by one. The “small potato” means…、The “ring bell ” means… Step2. Fast-reading: 1. Find out the Background Information of the four stories : when, where, what, time, place, main character. 2. Find out the Main Idea of each passage: What’s the first story mainly about? Step3.
