Although it played a transitional role, it still had its own place in the art history. Italian gardens were influenced by Mannerism at that time, and the content and form were accordingly changed. Among numerous magnificent Italian Renaissance gardens, this paper takes a sought-after architect named Vignola who was one of the most influential figures in Mannerist architectures and gardens as clue, and takes three villa gardens closely related to Vignola and with a lot of influence in the Italian Renaissance gardens as an example. Comparing these villas from the following aspects – site and function, overall structure, axis and proportion, and landscape elements details, to further explore art of Italian gardens in the Mannerist period. Key words: landscape architecture; Mannerism; Vignola; Italian Renaissance garden; comparative research 手法主义(Mannerism)，一个在20世纪创造的名词，用来描述在盛期文艺复兴之后，巴洛克之前的意大利艺术风格。它源起于意大利，笼统指大约在1520—1600年偏离文艺复兴设计的和谐之美的一种倾向。当艺术家们把手法主义发展到极致的时候，便进入了艺术上的巴洛克时代。 盛期文艺复兴，是莱奥纳尔多·达·芬奇、米开朗基罗、拉斐尔，以及其他许多著名艺术家的时代，是意大利艺术最伟大的时期。1520年，随着拉斐尔的逝世，盛期文艺复兴也随之走向了结束。那个时候，年轻的艺术家为了超越前人而狂热地奋斗，不断寻找新的方 法，于是手法主义出现了。不同于盛期文艺复兴所追求的平衡与清晰，手法主义喜欢表现组成上的紧张与不安，自如运用古典元素和透视幻觉效果，构图为非理性和富于戏剧性的，反对研究和遵守表现对象时的客观法则，强调自然表现之上的复杂性与精湛技艺等。艺术家要求自由，要求在创作中让想象、新
