SEVAN 650 Drilling UnitMechanical Completion Why Offshore Projects Need Mechanical Completion (MC)? Offshore Projects: More equipment. 60-75% costs on equipment, normal shipbuilding only less than 35-50%. Offshore Projects: More system. 100-200 system/sub-system, normal shipbuilding only 50 system/sub-system. Offshore Projects: lots of high pressure, high temp systems, normal shipbuilding has almost 0. Offshore Projects: 5-25 years without shipyard docking, no way to redo. Offshore Projects: offshore safety requirement Offshore Projects: and many many more How to ensure (in a systematic way) everything is done according to design/drawing/spec/codes?? This how MC comes in!! SEVAN 650 Drilling UnitMechanical Completion What is Mechanical Completion (MC)? MC is a tool that gives you the status and standard of the project at all stage. Normally a computerised system is used to organize and build up an MC package. On Sevan 650 Drilling Unit we will use Sevan Completion System MC package are build up by discipline and consist of tags, lines, cables etc. MC package and tags, lines and cables etc. are connected to discipline check lists. Cosco is responsible for MC on Drilling Unit Check list gives you the status OK, PB or PA. PB= Punch B, smaller outstanding item, You can start the system. PA= Punch A, Large outstanding item, You can not start the system. Execution MC and Comm. Execution MC and Comm. System Break Down Execution MC and Comm. MC System Break Down Execution MC and Comm. System 53 – Fresh Water SEVAN 650 Drilling UnitPUNCH OUT ROUTINE Prior to final punch out of steel block’s with client, Cosco shall do the following: Visual inspection for complete and correct installation. Verify all QC documentation. Prepare a set of punch list after internally punch out. Prepare MC documentation regarding to MC package All punch out and approval of main steel has to be done before any blasting and painting. Preservation have to take place immediately after ap
