第3章 学习ArcGIS Server平台(下)(结合演示讲解)一、ArcGIS Server 体系结构ArcGIS Server = GIS serverGIS server— The GIS server hosts your GIS resources, such as maps, globes and address locators and exposes them as services to client applications. The GIS server itself is composed of two distinct parts: the server object manager (SOM) and server object containers (SOCs). As the name implies, the SOM manages the services running on the servers. When a client application requests the use of a particular service, its the SOM that actually gives one out for the client to use. The SOM connects to one or more SOCs. The SOC machines—also referred to as container machines—contain, or host, the services that the SOM manages. Depending upon your configuration, you may run the SOM and SOC on different machines and also have multiple SOC machines. The figure above shows a SOM machine connected to two SOC machines. In ArcGIS Server Manager, The first time you connect to your GIS server, you will need to add one or more server object containers, or SOC machines, to it. The SOC machines host services and are the work centers of your GIS server. For your GIS server to utilize these SOC machines, you need to link them to the server object manager (SOM).For a machine to function as a SOC, it needs to have the Server Object Container component of ArcGIS Server installed on it.
