Abstract Abstract Intheprocessofeconomyglobalization,tarifftradebarrier,whichhadbeena effectivemeansofeverycountrytoprotectitsdomesticmarket,haslostitssplendor, butthecountriesdonotgiveupwhenfacingthetideofglobalization,theybuildupa strongerweapontoprotecttheireconomy-一greentradebarrier. Throughbuildingupgreentradebarrier,thedevelopedcountriescangetmany profits.Firstly,itcanhinderthenewindustrializationordevelopingcountriesto exporttheircompetitivetraditionaltradeproductstothedevelopedcountries Secondly,thedevelopedcountriesusetheircapitalortechnologyadvantagesto transformtheirtraditionalindustries,makeitgreenizedandregaincompetitive advantages.Thirdly,becausegreentradebarrierisinthenameofprotectingworld environmentandkeepingfairtrade,thewesterndevelopedcountriescangetgood reputation.Fourthly,anyindustryhasitsdevelopmentcycle冲edevelopedcountries havefinishedindustrialization,environmentstandardbecomeshigherandhigher, pollutiondisposalcostbecomeshighertoo.Inordertoavoidthestrictrestriction rfomdomesticgovernmentanddecreasethepollutiondisposalcost,theycannotbut shiftthesunsetindustriestothedevelopingcountries.Thus,theycanprolongthe industrieswaneandgainmoreprofitandgetcheapnaturalresourcesrfomthe developingcountriestthesametime. Asadevelopingcountry,Chinaexportrtademustbehinderedbythegreentrade barrier.AfterenteringWTO,Chinaexportdoesnotincreaseasmostpeopleexpected especiallyagriculturalproducts.Since2002,ouragriculturalproductsexporttoJapan, HangKongandKoreahasincreasedslowly,exporttoJapanonlyincreased0.9%. DuringJanuarytoMay,2002，agriculturalexporttoEuropeanUniondecreased 23.3%comparedwiththesameperiodlastyear.Livestockproductsdeceased8.5% duringJanuarytoJune,2002,thetotalexportisonly1.33billionUSdollars.The reasonisthedevelopedcountriesusedthegreentradebarrier.Theincreasedtrade disputescausedbygreenrtadebarrier,withtheirsplendidexcusesof environment-prot
