一、阅读理解
A
There you are, looking through your Qzone or Weibo, and you come across sayings likenbcs, zqsgorpaw. But what do they mean?
These are examples of the Internet slang terms(俚语) that have become popular among Chinas post-00s generation (一代人). According to Peoples Daily, these Internet slang terms mainly come from two ways: the acronyms (首字母缩略词) of Pinyin or English and a set of emojis(表情图标).
For example, nsdd is made up of the first letters from Pinyin Ni shi dui de which means You are right and brb meansBe right back. A group of emojis of sun, soccer and tea may tell people that a person played soccer and drank tea in the daytime.
Li Junzhang, a 16-year-old student, loves using the Internet slang terms. She chooses to express herself by using these symbols rather than words when communicating online. She believes, We like to talk in a convenient way. And parents have no idea what we are talking about. Using the new terms creates a feeling of being ourselves and gives us a sense of belonging to a certain generation.
