What you may not be aware of is that we have also included many features that you, and our customers have been requesting. Things such as: Ease of insertion Easy rail, non-rail differentiation Improved guide wire insertion Less kinking Are all included in the Perclose ProGlide. The point I can’t emphasize enough is the need to change how we teach knot delivery and the importance of fully depressing the plunger. Knot delivery will be detailed to you later in this breakout but it is paramount you understand there is only ONE way to teach this device in regards to knot delivery. Our goal is to make you and your operators successful. This is not a device you need to think much about, there aren’t any tweaks you need to incorporate. If the ProGlide fails the result is pretty much the same; close the foot remove the device replace the wire and get another device. The operator is almost totally removed from the procedure. Why did it fail? We hear this question all the time. If the device fails send it to Redwood City, that’s where we determine why it failed and what we can do to make a better device. DON”T change your teaching style!!! Stay the course send your failures in and we’ll change things as we need to. I’ve found that if we do X it works better! The device is designed to work in a certain fashion once you begin to change your teaching style you begin down a slippery slope from which you may not recover! If the device fails to perform as designed send it to us, statistics and detailed analysis will tell us what to change!
