August 1, 2014 Re: End of Service Life (EOSL) of File Management Appliance Generation 6 (Hardware Appliance) Dear Valued Customer: Over the years, EMC has introduced leading-edge technology in products that provide enterprise-wide solutions to our customers’ information technology needs. As enterprise technology and customer requirements have evolved, so too have EMC’s products. In line with this evolution, EMC has decided to discontinue support of File Management Appliance Generation 6, effective July 31, 2015, so that EMC may concentrate its efforts on current technology. TIMEFRAMES AND CONTRACT RELATED NOTICES The following timeline details the EOSL plan for File Management Appliance Generation 6 and provides you with formal notice that: If you have a current maintenance contract for File Management Appliance Generation 6 that expires on or before July 31, 2015, this letter serves as notification that EMC will not renew or extend that contract beyond July 31, 2015. If you have a current maintenance contract for File Management Appliance Generation 6 that expires after July 31, 2015 this letter serves as notification that EMC is terminating your maintenance contract, effective July 31, 2015.
