Product Guide ABB Hot-Tap Block and Clean INTRODUCTION The ABB Hot-tap Block and Clean allows users to isolate an ABB hot-tap insertion sensor and rinse it free of process fluid prior to removal. First, carefully loosen the compression fitting just enough to allow the sensor to retract out of the process into the extraction housing. Close the ball valve. Open both ¼” NPT drain ports to rinse process fluid from sensor or to cool a hot sensor. If sensor does not require flushing, operator must allow the housing to depressurize. Install ¼” valve on the drain port and vent it to an appropriate drain or container. Close both ¼” drain ports before removing sensor from extraction housing. The Hot-tap Block and Clean is available from ABB with either a hand-tightened or wrench-tightened compression fitting. Choose from 316 stainless steel or titanium materials with Viton, EPDM or Kalrez seals.
