The truth is, most teachers dread the process for a variety of reasons. But with only mere months between the last day of classes for Grade 5 and the beginning of high school, teachers often struggle to effectively equip the students appropriately and efficiently. The process of arranging class for Grade 5 is complex and multifaceted, and teachers must often juggle the standards, grades, strengths, and weaknesses of each student, attempting to create a class dynamic that offers the most benefit to all those involved. Teachers must assign numerical scores to behaviors and achievements, evaluate performance in various areas, and decide if and when to change the Grade 5 classroom. In addition to the academic consideration of which student assigns to which class, the process of class arrangement for Grade 5 also raises various practical concerns. To begin, teachers must decide which classrooms need the least maintenance, how the classrooms should be arranged, and how the students should be grouped. All these decisions must be made in considering the safety of the students and the effectiveness of the class setting. Class size is an important factor to consider when planning upcoming classes.
