It is likely that a new pair of shoes brings more happiness to a child than a new car to an adult. 【能力目标】 To know the subject-predicate agreement. 【情感目标】 Use the words soundly according to their meanings. 教学重难点 重点: usages of subject-predicate agreement. 难点：structure of subject-predicate agreement. 教学过程 ◆Step 1 Warming-up and revision (1) Small talk (2) Talk about the sentence structure that you’re familiar with, try to make sentences with the words. 设计意图 从活动引入，调动课堂气氛，引发学生学习兴趣 ◆Step 2 Introduction Ask Ss to look at the board and check the word to see if they know them. Show some examples of how the sentence work. 教学过程 ◆Step 3 Presentation The subject-predicate agreement means that the verb should be used according to the person and the number of the subject. I am a teacher. She is a doctor. They are workers. He gets up at five o’clock every morning. They have not come yet. We go to school every day. My brother has worked in that hospital for five years. Singular form: When the word “and” is used to connect two nouns or phrases which means the same person, same thing or the same concept, we often use the singular form of the verb. The worker and composer has composed a new production. A knife and fork is on the table. When it is described with every, each, no, many a, more than one, we often use the singular form, even when there is a coordinate subject. No man and no animal is to be found on the moon. Each child has an English name. Example: Every boy and every girl ______ to attend the evening party.
