Step1 Leading-in
Ask students a question: What if we had no access to the Internet? What will happen?
(Purpose: To arouse students’ interest and lead in today’s topic)
Step2 Pre-reading
Guess the passage main content and the author’s attitude from the title“Stronger Together:How we have been changed by the Internet”
(Purpose: Practice students’ reading ability such as guessing main content from the title)
Step3 While-Reading
Scanning
Find out each paragraph’s main idea and get the passage’s main idea
Para1: The wonders of the Internet
Para2: Jan’s problem and the help of the Internet
Para3: Jan’s started an IT club
Para4: Jan’s goal to make society better
Para5: Jans reflection on the Internet
The main idea of this passage: The Internet has changed our life
(Purpose: by doing this, students will know the main idea of this passage and its structure)
