Teaching material: The reading part of module 1---European
Teaching aims: To make students get the main idea and some detailed information by using some reading skills, such as skimming and scanning.
To make students understand how to introduce a city.
To make students appreciate foreign countries and show their love with our country.
Important points: The main idea and some detailed information of the passage.
Difficult points: The reading skills such as skimming and scanning.
Teaching aids: Textbook, the paper and multimedia.
Teaching methods: Situational Teaching Method, Task-based Language Teaching and Group Discussion.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
1. Share a short video
2. Show some pictures about the four European cities
Step 2 Fast reading
Students read the passage quickly and match the pictures with the descriptions.

Step 3 Careful reading
Students read the passage again and carefully. Then, finish the following tasks.

① Read the first part about Paris and find out some key words about how the author introduce Paris. (Location, landmark, tourist, people and so on)
② Read the rest of the passage and fill in the table.
