I. Warm-up Activities
Activity 1: Role Play Arranging a Party
Directions: You and three (or more) of your classmates have decided to have a
Christmas party and are to work out the necessary arrangements. On next
page are some questions you need to work on:
a. Where will the party be held?
b. Who will help to get it ready (move furniture, clean it, tidy up, etc.)?
c. How many people will be invited (Only people in the class or
boyfriends, girlfriends, other students, teachers, etc.)?
d. What time will the party start and finish? Which day – Friday or
Saturday?
e. How much food is needed? What sort? Who will buy or make it?
f. What sort of music will you have? Who can bring CDs?
g. What kind of show will be put on?
h. Any other items that need to be brought – knives, forks, plates,
chopsticks, glasses, etc. ? Who can bring what?
i. Who will help tidy up after the party – move back furniture, wash up,
etc.?
j. Anything else you can think of?
Activity 2: Watch Video and Discuss
Directions: Watch the video The Spirit of Christmas in New York; and work in pairs
on the following question:
