The changing rules of the comparative forms.
Step1.Sing the song “The more we get together.”
T:we are happy to get together. I’m your new teacher. Can we make friends? Oh, thanks .For your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends. Today we will learn how to compare with our friends. Look, here are some friends..
Step 2. Presentation
Show some pictures of persons on the screen, ask Ss what they look like, and lead them to compare by using comparative forms.
E.g. What does Yao Ming look like ? Yao Ming is tall.
教学过程 What does Yao Ming look like ? Pan is short.
Yao is taller than Pan. Pan is shorter than Yao.
Present the sentence pattern: A is/are ....than B. Ss compare with the classmates and make sentences like this:
I’m taller than Jim . Jim is thinner than me.
Show some comparatives ,ask Ss to find out the rules of the comparative form.
Classify (分类)the words and put the following comparatives in
the right places.

Step 3 Listening
1. Look at the picture , ask like this :There are three pairs of twins in the picture. Can you find them out ?They look the same, but they have some differences. Listen and fill in the blanks.
Step 4. Writing
Show a picture of two friends, ask the Ss to find out the differences between them.
Ask Ss to compare with one of their friends , find out the differences between them and write down the article. 3.Read the article in class. Ss guess who his/her friend is. Step 5. Sing together.

I’m funnier than you. I’m more outgoing than you. She’s shorter than him. She’s thinner than him.
