Exos®X4006Series ObtainingandInstallingaLicense PartNumber8310-01,A•February2022 Thisdocumentdescribes: l Howtoinstallasoftwarelicense,purchasedwitha4006Seriesstoragesystem,duringsystemsetup l Howtoobtainandinstallasoftwarelicensefora4006Seriesstoragesystemthatisalreadyinuse Thelicensefilecontainsalicensekeythatactivatesexpandedfunctionalityinthesystem.Whenlicenseinstallationsucceeds, thelicensingchangetakeseffectimmediately.Becauselicensedataisstoredontheenclosuremidplane,itappliestoboth controllersinadual-controllersystemandremainsineffectifeithercontrollerisreplaced. Installingalicenseduringsystemsetup 1. Savethelicensefiletoalocationonyournetworkthatthestoragesystemcanaccess. 2. SignintotheStorageManagementConsoleasauserwiththemanageroleonthecontrollerforwhichthelicensewas generated.WhenyouconnecttoStorageManagementConsolethefirsttime,anonboardingwizardguidesyouthrough systemconfiguration. 3. Followtheon-screendirectionstoinstallthelicensefile. Obtainingandinstallingalicenseaftersystemsetup 1. IntheStorageManagementConsole,selectMaintenanceSupportCollectLogstodownloadsystemlogssoTechnical Supportcanensurethatproperinformationisincludedinthelicense. 2.
