Step 1: Warming up
Share three dialogues between me and Karen, who was the hostess when I was living in the US.
The purpose of this step is 1) to Create information gap to arouse their interest in today’s lesson; 2) Activate students’ schema on the theme of this unit.
Step 2: Pre-reading
In this part, I’m going to check students’ preview work and ask them further questions based on the passage.
Purpose:
Check students’ comprehension of the preview work; 2)Introduce KWL reading strategy and pave the way for the next task.
