中国大学生英语动词的磨蚀研究的中期报告 Introduction The purpose of this study is to investigate the use and understanding of English verbs by Chinese university students. Verbs are an essential part of English grammar, and their proper usage is crucial for effective communication. The study aims to identify common errors made by Chinese students when using English verbs, as well as the factors that contribute to these errors. Methodology The study will use a mixed-methods approach, including both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. A structured survey questionnaire will be distributed to a sample of Chinese university students, asking about their experience with English verbs and their methods of learning and practicing them. Additionally, a set of English sentences will be provided to the participants to assess their proficiency in verb usage. Furthermore, interviews will be conducted with a subset of participants to gain more in-depth understanding of their experiences and attitudes towards learning English verbs. The interviews will be recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using content analysis. Results and Discussion Preliminary findings suggest that many Chinese students struggle with English verb usage, particularly with irregular verbs and phrasal verbs. Some common errors include incorrect verb tenses, incorrect subject-verb agreement, and incorrect use of prepositions. Factors that contribute to these errors include inadequate exposure to authentic English language usage, limited opportunities for practice, and the influence of Chinese language structures and grammar. Additionally, many students reported a lack of confidence in their ability to use English verbs correctly. Conclusion Further analysis of the data will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by Chinese students in learning English verbs. Based on the findings, recommendations can be made to improve English language instruction and support for Chinese students, such as
