跨国民族视角下的我国西部能源安全——以中哈能源合作为例的中期报告 Abstract: As Chinas energy needs continue to grow, the security of energy supplies, especially in the western region, has become increasingly important. This report takes the China-Kazakhstan energy cooperation as an example and analyzes the energy security of Chinas western region from a cross-national and ethnic perspective. The report concludes that the cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the energy sector has brought both economic and security benefits, and that the two nations should strive to deepen their cooperation to further enhance their energy security. Introduction: Energy security has always been an important issue for China. As the country continues to grow economically, its energy demands have also increased. However, Chinas energy resources are mainly concentrated in the eastern and coastal regions, while the western and inland regions are relatively lack in resources. Therefore, the security of the energy supply in the western region has become an urgent issue that needs to be resolved. China and Kazakhstan are two countries that have a long history of cooperation in the energy sector. In recent years, China has actively sought to deepen its cooperation with Kazakhstan in the energy sector, especially in relation to oil and gas development in the Xinjiang and Kazakhstan regions. Therefore, this report takes China-Kazakhstan energy cooperation as an example and analyzes the energy security of Chinas western region from a cross-national and ethnic perspective.
