The revision of adjectives
Teaching aims:
To review the Comparative and Superlative Degree.
To review such sentence patterns as“as + adj.(原级)+ as ? /not as/so +adj.
(原级)+as?”, “the +比较级,the+比较级”, “A+ be+比较级+than +B” “比较级
+and+比较级” , “The +比较级 +of the two“,“the +最高级+i n/of ?”, “Which/Who+ is+比较级,A or B ?”
Teaching procedure:
Step 1: Ask students to work in groups and use adjectives to make a word snake. Step 2: Use adjectives to describe some pictures.
Step 3: Find out the differences between the two elephants and use “than” to make sentences.
Step 4: Reach a conclusion---- structures that are used to express comparative degree.
Step 5: Guessing game.
Let students guess who my best friend is. Ask some of them to follow my example and describe their favorite teachers. The other students try to get the answer.
Step 6: Reach a conclusion---structures that are used to express superlative degree.
Step 7: Review the rules of forming the comparative degree and superlative degree. Step 8: Do some exercises and then ask some of them to check the answers.
Step 9: Debate:
Wh ich is better, shopping online or shopping in real shops?
Step 10: Write a composition about the advantages and disadvantages of shopping online.
