Three main topics are involved, namely, semantic evolution, morphological evolution and phonological evolution. In terms of semantic evolution, this report analyzes the meanings and usages of these terms in ancient Chinese and the semantic changes in modern Chinese. In terms of morphological evolution, this report studies the origin, derivation and compound methods of these terms as well as their orthographic features in different historical periods. In terms of phonological evolution, this report explores the tonal change and sound change of these terms and their pronunciation features in dialects and regions. By investigating these three aspects, this report aims to depict a comprehensive picture of the historical evolution of Chinese body terms referring to feet, offering a useful reference for understanding the patterns and features of Chinese lexical development. 【Keywords】Chinese; body terms referring to feet; historical evolution; semantic evolution; morphological evolution; phonological evolution
