科技英语翻译单位及其译语等值物的对应的中期报告 Mid-Term Report on the Correspondence between Units and Equivalents of Translations for Technical English Introduction Technical English is an important language in the field of science and technology. With the rapid development of science and technology, the demand for technical English translation has been increasing. In order to ensure the accuracy and consistency of technical English translation, it is necessary to establish a correspondence table between units and equivalents of technical English translation. Methodology In this study, we collected technical English documents from various sources and selected commonly used units and their equivalents in Chinese. We then analyzed the consistency and accuracy of the translations and made adjustments accordingly. Results We established a correspondence table between 27 commonly used units and their equivalents in Chinese. The following are the units and their equivalents: - Meter (m): 米 - Kilometer (km): 千米 - Centimeter (cm): 厘米 - Millimeter (mm): 毫米 - Foot (ft): 英尺 - Inch (in): 英寸 - Yard (yd): 码 - Mile (mi): 英里 - Square meter (m2): 平方米 - Square kilometer (km2): 平方千米 - Cubic meter (m3): 立方米 - Liter (L): 升 - Milliliter (mL): 毫升 - Pound (lb): 磅 - Ounce (oz): 盎司 - Ton (t): 吨 - Celsius (°C): 摄氏度 - Fahrenheit (°F): 华氏度 - Kelvin (K): 开尔文 - Second (s): 秒 - Minute (min): 分钟 - Hour (h): 小时 - Day (d): 天 - Week (wk): 周 - Month (mo): 月 - Year (yr): 年 Conclusion The establishment of a correspondence table between units and equivalents of technical English translation is important for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of technical English translation. This study provides a useful reference for technical translators and promotes the standardization of technical English translation.
