Should we revive traditional Chinese characters or continue using simplified characters? There has been a lot of debate over the acceptability of simplified Chinese characters recently.Supporters hold that they are more practical nowadays and can also preserve and promote traditional culture.But not everyone takes it appropriate .culturally ,it will prevent us from inheriting traditional culture ;politically,reviving traditional characters promotes national unity .However,I think constant simplification of Chinese characters could not be reversed in view of the practicality adaptability to contemporary society and novelty of our vigorous traditional culture. Firstly,as language,Chinese characters appeared in purpose of helping interpersonal communication.As a tool,the more practical and convenient it is,the more beneficial it is. Then,in today’s society,efficiency matFtoerresxammosptle.,compared with peers in ancient time who majored in traditional Chinese,students struggling over a range of subjects nowadays have not enough time to learn complicated traditional characters.By contrast,simplification ones meets the needs of modern education better.It seems the same story in other respect of our society. Finally, the key to flourishing our Chinese traditional culture,lies in novel changes. Simplification of Chinese characters illustrates such change well. Although it may have less aesthetic value than traditional ones,it will not be weakened in cultural function and easier to learn and use,which is surely a kind of cultural progress. All in all,simplified Chinese characters will create more chance for Chinese culture to flourish in the future.
