It appeared in the folk at late West Han Dynast and flourished at East Han Dynast when it came into the royal court as an article of tribute. Through several chaos caused by war and twists, the wood iron painting was re-sorted and developed by Zhao Shanxin at the period of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynast so that it developed from simple painting with fish, insect, flower or bird to complex painting with mountain, rive
