ISO(theInternationalOrganizationforStandardization)andIEC(the International Electro technical Commission) form thespecialized system for worldwide standardization. Nationalbodies that are members of ISO or IEC participate in thedevelopment of International Standards through technicalcommitteesestablishedbytherespective organization to dealwith particular fields oftechnicalactivity.ISOandIECtechnicalcommitteescollaborateinfieldsofmutualinterest.Otherinternationalorganizations,governmentalandnon-governmental,inliaisonwithISOandIEC,alsotakepartinthework.Inthefieldofinformationtechnology,ISOandIEChaveestablishedajointtechnicalcommittee,ISO/IECJTC1.
