HISTORYTheRavenshawCollege,Cuttackhaditsbeginningin1868afterthegreatfamineof1866.In1879,itwasnamedafterThomasEricRavenshaw,CommissionerofOrissa(1865-1878)forpromotingeducation.Degreeclassesstartedin1876andPGEnglishin1922.Shiftedtothepresentcampusin1921.Itbecameautonomousin1989/90andaStateUniversityonNovember15,2006.

ACADEMICSOffersGraduateStudyandMastersin25subjects,inScience,CommerceandHumanities.M.Phil.in16disciplines.147ResearchScholarsappearedinthecurrententrancetestforregistrationforPh.D.22numbersofresearchprojects.
