Abstract:

Hepatocellularcarcinoma(HCC)isoneofthemostcommonmalignanttumors,anditsincidenceandmortalityratesareincreasingyearbyyear.AsanimportantmoleculartargetforthetreatmentofHCC,somatostatinanditsanalogueshavebeenwidelystudiedinrecentyears.Somatostatinisaneuropeptidethatcanregulatevariousphysiologicalfunctions,suchasinhibitingthereleaseofgrowthhormone,insulinandothermetabolichormonesfromthepituitaryglandandregulatinggastrointestinalmotility.Atthesametime,theuseofsomatostatinanaloguesforthetreatmentofHCChasalsobeenwidelystudied.Inthisarticle,theinhibitoryeffectofsomatostatinanaloguesonthegrowthoflivercancercellsandtheeffectontheexpressionofCDK5werereviewed.

Introduction:

Hepatocellularcarcinoma(HCC)isacommonmalignanttumoroftheliverandisoneoftheleadingcausesofcancer-relateddeathsworldwide.Itsincidenceandmortalityratesareincreasingyearbyyear.Atpresent,thetreatmentofHCCmainlyincludessurgicalresection,transplantation,radiotherapy,chemotherapyandmoleculartargetedtherapy.However,duetothehighheterogeneityofHCC,theeffectsofthesetreatmentmethodsarelimited,andtheprognosisofHCCpatientsisstillpoor.Therefore,thereisanurgentneedtoexplorenewmethodsforthetreatmentofHCC.

Somatostatinisaneuropeptidethatcanregulatevariousphysiologicalfunctions,suchasinhibitingthereleaseofgrowthhormone,insulinandothermetabolichormonesfromthepituitaryglandandregulatinggastrointestinalmotility.Inrecentyears,somatostatinanditsanalogueshavebeenwidelystudiedasanimportantmoleculartargetforthetreatmentofHCC.
