英语为母语的汉语学习者能愿动词偏误分析的中期报告
Introduction
ThepurposeofthismidtermreportistoanalyzetheerrorsmadebyEnglish-speakinglearnersofChineseintheuseoftheverb“能愿”(néngyuàn)inMandarinChinese.Theverb“能愿”referstotheabilityandwillingnesstodosomething.Theanalysisisbasedonareviewofliteratureonsecondlanguageacquisitionanderroranalysis,aswellasanexaminationoftheerrorsmadebyagroupofEnglish-speakinglearnersofChinese.
LiteratureReview
SecondLanguageAcquisition(SLA)isacomplexprocessthatinvolvestheacquisitionoflanguageskillsandknowledge.OneofthemostsignificantfeaturesofSLAistheoccurrenceoferrorsmadebylearners.Erroranalysisisausefultoolforidentifyingandanalyzingtheerrorsmadebylearners.Itenablesteachersandresearcherstounderstandhowlearnersacquirelanguageandtodevelopappropriateteachingstrategies.
Theacquisitionoftheverb“能愿”byEnglish-speakinglearnersofChineseisaffectedbyseveralfactors.Firstly,theconceptof“ability”and“willingness”maynotbeexpressedinthesamewayinEnglishandChinese,whichcancauseconfusion.Secondly,thewordorderinChinesediffersfromthatinEnglish,andlearnersmaystrugglewiththedifferentgrammaticalstructures.Thirdly,theuseofauxiliaryverbsinChinesecanbedifficult,asitisnotafeatureofEnglishgrammar.
Methodology
Thestudyisbasedonasampleof20English-speakinglearnersofChinesewhohavestudiedChineseforaminimumoftwoyears.Thedatawerecollectedfromwritingassignmentsandoralpresentations.Thesamplewasanalyzedusingerroranalysis,focusingonerrorsrelatedtotheverb“能愿”.
Results
TheresultsshowthatEnglish-speakinglearnersofChinesestrugglewiththeuseof“能愿”inavarietyofways.Thefollowingtypesoferrorswereidentified:
1.Confusionbetween“能”and“会”(huì)
English-speakinglearnersofChineseoftenconfusetheverbs“能”and“会”.Bothverbscan
