intohisbackyard.Itwastruethathehadjustboughtalamb,heexplained,buthislambwasblack.Ashamedofhavingacted

sorashly,DimitriapologizedtoAlekoforhavingaccusedhim.WhiletheyweretalkingitbegantorainandDimitristayedin

Alekoshouseuntiltherainstopped.Whenhewentoutsidehalfanhourlater,hewasastonishedtofindthelittleblacklamb

wasalmostwhite.Itswool,whichhadbeendyedblack,hadbeenwashedcleanbytherain!
