1.Introduction
On2October2014,theWorldAnti-DopingAgency(WADA)publishedtheTechnicalDocument
forSportSpecificAnalysis(TDSSA),whichisintendedtoensurethatProhibitedSubstances
and/orProhibitedMethodswithinthescopeoftheTDSSAandothertoolsthatsupportthe
detectionofProhibitedSubstancesand/oridentifytheUseofProhibitedMethodssuchasthe
AthleteBiologicalPassport(ABP)aresubjecttoanappropriateandconsistentlevelofuse,
analysisandadoptionbyallAnti-DopingOrganizations(ADOs)thatconducttestingintherelevant
sportsanddisciplines.CompliancewiththeTDSSAismandatoryunderarticle4.2.3ofthe2023
InternationalStandardforTestingandInvestigations(ISTI);and,since1January2016WADA
hasbeenmonitoringimplementationoftheTDSSAclosely.
On1June2016,followingadecisionbyWADA’sExecutiveCommittee,itbecamemandatoryfor
