—MostcurrentSLAMsystemsarestillbasedonInthetwoyearsafter[22]introducedthissystem,vision-

primitivegeometricfeaturessuchaspoints,lines,ornes.basedobjectdetectionandrecognitionhasmadeanimpressive

Thecreatedmapsthereforecarrygeometricinformation,butperformanceleapafterthere-adventofConvolutionalNeural

noimmediatesemanticinformation.Withtherecentsigniﬁcant

advancesinobjectdetectionandsceneclassiﬁcationwethinktheNetworks(Cons).Startingwith[14],severalothergroups

timeisrightfortheSLAMcommunitytoaskwheretheSLAM(e.g.[23,6,9,28])haveincreasedthequalityofCon-

researchshouldbegoing1duringthenextyears.Asapossiblebasedmethodsthathaveevenreachedhumanperformanceon

answertothisquestion,weadvocatedeveloSLAMsystemsthestandardizedImagILSVRCbenark[21].Another
