Whenprintingaproof,weneedtoconvertthedocumenttothedeviceCMYK(apresscolorspaceor

anotherprintercolorspace).ThisoperationisdonebyaRIPcompletelyorincombinationwithan

applicationandaRIP,inbothcases,theRIPmustsupportCMYKdata.TheHPDriveronlygathersthe

documentinformationinRGB,forthisreasonitisnotrecommendedtousetheHPDriverforproofing,

itisstronglyrecommendedtouseaSoftwareRIP.

1.Firstrecommendations:

•SeetheMediatypefunctionalityfeaturesandchoosethemostappropriatemedia.

•Itisessentialyouhavethemediatypecorrectlycalibratedwiththeprinterandprintmode,

consulttheCalibratemyprintersection.

•Inordertogetacorrectdisplay,it’salsoessentialyouhavethemonitorprofiled,consultthe

Profilemymonitordocument.

3.ConfiguretheColorSettings,EditmenuColorSettings…:

•MakesuretheMoreOptionsaredisplayed.

•WorkingSpaceRGB:Selecttheprofileofthescannerorcamerayouhaveusedtoget

thephotos(sourceprofile),ifyoudon’thaveit,selectAdobeRGB(1998).

•WorkingSpaceCMYK:EuroscaleCoatedv2(forEurope),U.S.WebCoated(SWOP)

v2(forUS)andJapanStandardv2(forJapan).

•ColorManagementPolicies:PreserveEmbeddedProfiles.

•ProfileMismatches:SelectAskWhenOpeningandAskWhenPasting.

•MissingProfiles:SelectAskWhenOpening.

•ConversionOptionsIntent:Perceptual(forRGBimages)orRelativeColorimetric(for

CMYKimages).
