DESCRIPTIONANDOPERATION
Thisisa4-portedspoolvalvewhereflowfromport1toport2isblockedandport4isconnectedtoport3.Thespringchamberisconnectedtoport
4throughanorificeinthespool.Whenport4isconnectedtotheoutletofacontrolorificeandport1isconnectedupstreamoftheorifice,thevalve
functionsasaprioritypressurecompensator.Whenthepressuredropacrosstheorificeisequaltothespringsetpressure,thespoolbeginstorestrict
theflowtoport3,whileopeningport1toport2toallowexcessflowtopasstoanotherpartofthecircuit.Ifthepressureinthesecondpartofthe
circuitrisesabovethepressureinport3,thespoolwillmovebacktorestricttheflowfromport1toport2andmaintainthepriorityflowtoport3
regardlessofpressurechangesbetweenport3andport2.Thesevalvesareidealforuseincircuitswhereapriorityflowisneededtoafunctionwhile
allowingtheexcessflowtobeusedforotherpurposes.
