enclosure.

AnintegralpartoftheCDM2SEistheuseofroundedbaffleedges,whichreducethe

effectknownasdiffraction.Innormalcabinetconstruction,soundwavesfromthedriveunits

radiatetowardboththelistenerandthecabinetedges.Ifthesoundwavesmeetsharp

edges,theyre-radiatetowardsthelistenerand,duetotimedelay,interferewithandblur

thesoundcomingdirectlyfromthedriveunit.Roundingtheedgesreducesthistime

smearing,givingyouthelisteneraclearersoundandbetterdefinedstereoimage.
