(2)ThecoreobjectiveofSCMistoachieveabalancebetweencost,service,andqualitytomaximizecustomersatisfaction.Awell-managedsupplychaincanreducecostsbyeliminatingwaste,improvingefficiency,andleveragingeconomiesofscale.AccordingtoareportbyGartner,89%oforganizationswithmaturesupplychainsreportcostsavingsof10%ormore.AclassiccaseinpointisToyotasimplementationoftheToyotaProductionSystem(TPS),whichemphasizesleanprinciplestominimizewasteandenhanceproductivity,significantlyimprovingitssupplychainperformance.
